PREVIEW: RANGERS VS SENATORS GAME 4 EASTERN CONFERENCE SEMI-FINALS

PREVIEW: RANGERS VS SENATORS GAME 4 EASTERN CONFERENCE SEMI-FINALS

By: Matthew Blittner

Well 0-2 became 1-2 real quick!

A hard hitting fast paced Game 3 brought the Rangers' season back from the brink. Rather than facing the near impossible task of attempting to come back from down 0-3, the Rangers climbed back into the series with an emphatic 4-1 win at Madison Square Garden.

Now the question becomes, Can they come all the way back?

A win in Game 4 will tie the series at two games apiece and essentially breakdown the series into a best 2-out-of-3 set.

Tanner Glass figures to remain in the lineup in place of Pavel Buchnevich, as he seems to bring more energy to the team when he's on the ice.

What the Rangers will miss in skill, they will make up for with their depth. With Rick Nash now having registered 16 points in his last 18 playoff games, Mats Zuccarello, Michael Grabner, and Brady Skjei splitting the team playoff lead with four goals apiece, and even Derek Stepan and JT Miller getting onto the score sheet, all signs continue to point towards an offensive revival for the Blueshirts.

Of course, the real key is the continued stellar play of Henrik Lundqvist. As Lundqvist goes, so to do the Rangers.

As an added bonus, the Rangers higher ups have decided that they need to get the crowd into the Game right out of the gate. So, they have brought National Anthem singer and fan favorite, John Amirante back to whip the crowd into his patented frenzy for Game 4. Amirante had been singing the Star-Spangled Banner at Ranger playoff home games since 1980 before being told that he wasn't being brought back after the 2015 playoffs.

Well, Welcome Back Amirante, and I hope you have your famous handkerchief with you, because I fully expect you to raise the roof of Madison Square Garden, and then let the Rangers blow it off as they feed off the crowd's energy early and often!
