BASEBALL ROUNDUP: NY YANKEES
BASEBALL ROUNDUP: NY YANKEES

13 and counting!
13, its generally considered to be an unlucky number.
Not for the New York Yankees.
Rookie Right Fielder Aaron Judge, who had a disappointing cup of coffee in the majors last season, has seemingly put to rest any and all concerns about his ability to handle major league pitching.
Coming into spring training, Judge was in an open competition with Aaron Hicks for the starting gig in Right Field.
A solid showing in the grapefruit league landed Judge the job, and now His Honor presides over the bench with authority on a nightly basis.
After starting the season 1-4, the Yankees came home for a prolonged home stand, and that's where it all clicked. Racing out to an eight-game win-streak the Bronx Bombers began to assert their offensive prowess, and their rookie Right Fielder was right in the middle of it.
Launching mammoth home runs on a seemingly nightly basis, the Judge Man ended the month of April with a rookie record 10 home runs, and the third highest total in franchise history.
Into May and the Bronx Bombers haven't stopped. After their 8-6 win against the Toronto Blue jays at the Stadium on Wednesday night May 3rd, they are now 12-3 at home, and rank in the top-3 of the majors in most offensive categories.
Oh, and by the way, Judge is now the YOUNGEST PLAYER IN MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL HISTORY to hit 13 home runs in his team's first 26 games!
Keep in mind, the Bombers have been without catcher Gary Sanchez for most of the season due to a biceps strain. Sanchez, who hit 20 home runs in his two month major league cameo last season, can only add to the already immense fire power that the lineup possesses.
Their starting pitching will be Jekyll and Hyde like all season, but their resilient offense and deep bullpen should be more than capable of bailing the starters out.
If you don't believe me, go check out the highlight videos from their 14-11 comeback win against the Baltimore Orioles at Yankee Stadium on April 28th. They were down 9-1 going into the sixth inning, but a pair of home runs from the Judge Man, as well as a clutch game-tying two run home run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth off the bat of Starlin Castro, and the walk-off blast in the 11th inning off the bat of Matt Holiday, stamped this game as an instant classic!
